Utah forest mountain family portraits

I love to be in the forest, and this family session was such a beautiful location to be in just before Winter brought snow!

Utah extended family portrait session

This extended family session brought everyone together for their parents’ wedding anniversary, and was just in time for the Holiday Season! I love capturing family moments they will cherish for years to come.

Salt Lake City family portrait session | Utah photographer

I have photographed these cute kiddos at their school for years, and this Fall I had the pleasure of photographing their entire family.

I love fun family sessions, and this family was so great to work with… we hiked to all the pretty spots, and the kids had fun running around and finding cool rocks and trees to climb!

Fall Portrait Session | Utah mountains

One of my favorite sweet families came for portraits this Fall!

I truly love seeing my clients year after year & especially how their children are growing! At last year’s session, this little sister was just a baby and here she is hiking around with her big sister … I love it!

Beautiful family inside & out!

I love the colors of Fall, and photographing families in the mountains during that time is just perfect! These awesome clients have been coming to me each year since their daughter was a toddler, and I love to see how their children are growing every year!

Korean Dol – a birthday tradition

I was so honored to photograph this little darling’s special day and family tradition!

Dol is a Korean tradition that celebrates the first birthday of a baby. The highlight of the dol is a ritual called the doljabi (돌잡이) where the child is placed in front of a table of foods and objects such as string, book, calligraphy brush, ink, and money. The child is then urged to pick up an object from the table.

It is believed the one selected will foretell the child’s future. For example, if the child picks up a paint/calligraphy brush or book, they are destined to be smart. If they pick up money, they will be wealthy; If they pick up food, they will not be hungry. If the child picks up the thread, it is believed they will live a long life. This ceremony blesses the child with a prosperous future.
