Utah family photographer
I love the mountains & forest so much, and when I find the perfect spot for a session, I am so excited to show it to my clients! This was a fun Fall night with one of my favorite repeat clients – I’ve been photographing them since before this little guy was born. Love seeing their smiles year after year!
Fall portrait session
I love the colors of Fall, and photographing families in the mountains during that time is just perfect! These awesome clients have been coming to me each year since their daughter was a toddler, and I love to see how their children are growing every year!
Utah State Capitol – family session
The Utah State Capitol was a great backdrop for this sweet family’s portrait session – beautiful architecture!
This family’s love and connection with each other was so fun to photograph!
Even the dog liked to smile!
Bonneville Salt Flats family portrait session
When this family contacts me each year for their family portraits, I am always so happy! I love to see these little ones and how they are growing up, and they are a really fun family full of laughs and love. I love their style!
The Bonneville Salt Flats had about a 1/2 inch of water on the salt that day, and it created some great reflections. It is such a unique location, and it looks different every time I go out there.
Summer portrait session
Spring family session
I love seeing this family year after year and seeing how their family has grown! They were celebrating their darling Kate turning 1 year old! Look at that adorable smile!!
Cutest siblings ever!
The outfits & colors they chose were perfect for the green foothills of Salt Lake City this Spring!
Be still my heart…
At home portrait session | Salt Lake City newborn photographer
I am always honored to have clients contact me to photograph their family each year, and it is extra special when they have a new baby to introduce me to! I loved photographing this sweet family in their home!
Garage Portraits | Utah portrait photographer
For Mother’s Day, I asked my three boys to pose for a portrait for me – no complaints, and they delivered! I love that these look like they were shot in a studio… because they were actually shot in our garage with no additional lighting!
I had heard in a few photography courses years ago that garages are a great place to take portraits due to the lighting conditions it creates. (The garage also worked out to be the perfect place to shoot today because it was raining.) If you’d like to try this, place your subject near the edge of the garage, and have them step back until they are not in direct sunlight. Their eyes will have gorgeous catchlights from the amount of light let in through the wide open door.
My boys were just a few feet inside of the garage facing the open door. I stood about 2-3 feet away, at about the edge of the garage. As you can see in the pull backs, they were sitting in-between our vehicles, so there were a few distractions in the background that I used photoshop to minimize afterward. I’d recommend an empty garage to avoid that. I’ll definitely shoot there again!
These were shot with my Canon 24-70L at 50mm, F2.8.
